Fun with Friends

Even though we miss all our friends in Texas, we are making new friends here in Washington.  The congregation has been so supportive and welcoming.
Here are a few fun pics and highlights with our brothers.

Girls day in the city of Seattle!  Went shopping, went chocolate tasting and site seeing.

It's tea time!  Tea Party at a sister's house where we all dressed for the occasion.
It was all enchantingly beautiful...

Arts and Crafts with sisters during the week.  They can get very creative!

Festival at Mount Si in North Bend.  An annual event in our small town.
Like a tiny State Fair. (1 block)
Andy entered into a cherry pie eating contest.  (The winner ate a whole pie and started on his second in 3 minutes. Andy almost finished his first)

His pie eating name was "MOUTH"

Fireworks at the Festival across the street from our house.  We just sat in a field in a park.

Glow in the dark sticks got creative.

Natural Beauty (new pics added)

When we moved here, spring was beginning and flowers beautiful flowers were in bloom. We will add more pics of the flowers later.  Below are some Cherry Blossoms growing right outside our apartment, (with Mount Si in the background). Also a red Burning Bush that amazed us since it was like an ultraviolet or hyper-color red.

As Summer came around, about late June early July, everyone around seemed to be in a good mood.  Sunny 70 degree days, makes summers here beautiful and enjoyable.  The majority here love the outdoors and pass the time either hiking, biking, camping, swimming in the lakes and rivers and going to many small town festivals.    When Aimy's parents/grandparents came they too went with us to hike the Twin Falls trail which is another waterfall seen at the end of that 1 hour hiking trail. Below are some pics of Snoqualmie Falls and our hike just 10 minutes from where we live.

Another impressive thing is all the wildlife around the area.  No we haven't seen a bear yet but we might soon.  Along the hike we saw cute little chipmunks.  As we drive to the hall sometimes, we see mother dears leading their fawns as they eat blackberries that grow wild on the side of the road.  Most amazing are Elk that we see once in awhile in a field just 50 feet off the road. They gather in herds of 30-50.  Below are some pics of the animals.

Below are the ones we say during early morning

Puyallup Assembly Hall

Hello Everyone!

We haven't kept up with the blog and we are sorry.  We have been settling in and getting to know our congregation and the area.  We will try to catch you up on what has been happening in the past months.
We miss you all!

First off:
Puyallup Assembly Hall

Shortly after moving in to our new home, we went to our assigned Special Assembly day in a city named Puyallup (rhymes with gallop).  It's about 45 minutes away from where we live (North Bend).
Unlike Denton's assembly hall that can be seen from a mile away, Puyallup's assembly hall is hidden between tall forest trees.  It's a little smaller then Denton's but was remodeled about 5 years ago.
A married couple from our congregation was baptized.  And it was odd to be at an assembly and not know anyone.  But soon we began to meet new friends.
After the assembly we went to eat at Famous Daves BBQ.  It was awesome! They have different BBQ sauces to sample and mix.  (It reminded us of home.)
On our way home, it began to rain/ice as we had to go over a mountain!  It was odd because the weather was fairly warm during the day and it caught us by surprise.  It was very scary.
