#9 North Bend, Washington

We've made it! Thanks to Jehovah we arrived safely. After 5 Days, 4 nights, 2700 miles, we have arrived at North Bend, Washington, our new home.
We attached some pics of views from Snolqualmie Pass that is about 30 minutes away from our apartment. It is so beautiful.
The Cube that has our things should arrive in the next couple of days. Meanwhile we were invited to stay with a couple from our Hall. They were kind to open their home to us so that we can sleep on a bed tonight instead of the floor.
Below are some pictures of some of the friends from our hall.
We miss you all and we will keep in touch. We will leave this blog open for a little while to let you know of our time here.
We love you all. Thank you all for your encouragement. Until next time,
Andy & Aimy

#8 Passing thru State of Oregon

Sun. 31st 1:30pm
We are just passing thru Oregon to get to Washington. They don't want you to pump your own gas here. It took about 2 hours to drive thru. Again, more pretty scenes.
3 hours more. Almost there....

#7 Boise, Idaho

Sat. 30th
Driving from Salt Lake to Boise only took about 6 hours. We arrived at 6pm (7pm Dallas time).
On the drive up here we saw only flat land and not much of anything else. That is, until we finally reached the Capital of Idaho. It was more city like there with lots of rolling hills and the mountains in the backdrop. Boise is the state capital with a well known football university, so kinda of like Austin but less populated.
Before checking in to our hotel, we stopped and ate at The Flying Pie Pizzeria, also from Man v Food. Which they too have a challenge, to eat a 12" Triple Habanero Pizza:
Approximately 18 fresh habanero peppers (the heat equivalent of 15 pounds of jalapeños).
Instead we both ordered a 10" pizza each: Andy's was the "Contest Combo" with Mozzarella, pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, Italian salami, ground beef, linguica, mushrooms, green peppers, onion, olives. Aimy's was the "Triple Pie" with Mozzarella, sharp cheddar, Pecorino romano, beef, linguica, Italian sausage, green pepper, crushed red pepper, jalapeños. Both were Oh So Tasty!
Also Andy noticed something funny on the fountain drinks at that place. See pics below. Then we went to the restrooms there and were surprised to see the room painted and decorated in unusual ways (pics below). (Girls restroom theme: forest with butterflies; Boys restroom theme: Space)
Next stop: HOME! It should take us about 8 hours arriving there about 4pm (6pm Dallas time)

#6 Salt Lake City, Utah

Sat 30th
The whole state of Utah is very pretty. We saw mountain after mountain after mountain. The city of Salt Lake seems to be surrounded by them. We awoke to a gorgeous Saturday morning. Just four days before it was snowing here. Despite the wonderful weather, we were surprised by how calm the city was. We only saw a few joggers with dogs around town. We stopped and looked at Capitol Hill as well as a couple of other sites around town.
We thought it was interesting that Salt Lake City's layout is on a grid with street numbers increasing away from the Temple in all directions. (See street map below)
For lunch we went to Crown Burgers, another Man v. Food location. Andy had a Crown Burger, Aimy had a junior Crown Burger. Both had a char broiled beef patty and pastrami on top. It was GOOOOD! There was also a homemade fry sauce that was similar to a Puerto Rican dipping sauce that Aimy's grandma makes (for "surullitos").
We went to get an oil change on our car since we have already reached almost 2000 miles on the road.
We are now on our way to Boise. We should be arriving around 6:00 pm (7:00pm Dallas time). That will be our last stop before Washington.
